also, the deadline for signing up as a vendor at the Mew & Girls Rock Philly Shop Rock & Roll event is TOMORROW (as in Friday 12.5)!
sign up now! it’s really going to be a kick a$# event! also if you’re interested in VOLUNTEERING at the event (ie. help make sure things run smoothly, etc) there are all sorts of things going on from live music to crafting stations, and set up and tear down- if any of that sparks your interest please email us and we’ll put you in touch with the proper person!

Holiday Craft Bazaar & Rock Show to Benefit Philly’s Only Girls Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp
WHAT: Shop, Rock & Roll, holiday craft bazaar and rock show to benefit Philadelphia’s first and only summer rock camp exclusively for girls, Girls Rock Philly, presented in conjunction with Mew Gallery.
WHEN: Saturday, December 13, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: Old Pine Community Center, 401 Lombard Street, Philadelphia
INFO: Admission for the public is $5-10. All proceeds benefit Girls Rock Philly, a nonprofit organization.

ABOUT: Girls Rock Philly and Mew Gallery have teamed up to present Shop, Rock & Roll on Saturday, December 13. The afternoon will feature local artists and crafters selling unique gift items, a bake sale and a rock show by camper bands Iron Tree & camper DJ Sassafras.
Proceeds will benefit Girls Rock Philly, now working to present its third year of camp, scheduled for August 2009. A weeklong summer day camp exclusively for girls ages 9 to 17, organized and run by an all-female group of volunteers, Girls Rock Philly is held on the campus of Girard College each August. Girls from all parts of Philadelphia and the suburbs learn how to play musical instruments, write songs, make their own band merchandise, discover other women in rock and finesse their on-stage jump kicks – culminating in an end-of-camp band showcase for friends, family and supporters.
